Description

The Gentle Giant

And my teeth may be sharp,
and I've been raised to kill,
but the thought of fresh meat,
it is making me ill…
You'll be safe with me

Armor
Neck guard: Four large metal (steel) plates that surround the back of the neck, rising above the head and slightly curving around the neck. This protects both the back of the head and the neck. The four plates are welded to the spine plates, and are not individually flexible to move, which makes quick turns difficult to maneuver.
Shoulder plates: One metal (steel) plate on each shoulder, connected but independent from the neck and spine guards. Strapped to the rest of the armor using tough leather strips and bronze buckles.
Chest guard: A small metal (bronze) plate that connects both shoulder plates together at the chest, keeping the armor together. Provides little protection in itself, but allows the rest of the armor to move more freely and more balanced.
Spine guard: Four metal (steel) plates that move vertically down the spine from the base of the neck guard, protecting the vulnerable position of the back. The final plate juts out a bit just above the base of the tail, which makes it easier to carry loads of supplies on top of the plates without falling off the back end. Two tough leather strips connect both sides of the armor by wrapping under the belly, and are adjustable with bronze buckles. These leather strips are connected to a longer strip under the rib cage and belly that branches from the chest guard.

Skills
Attack: 4/10 [Gallus is a pacifist, meaning he dislikes violent physical confrontation and will do anything to avoid it, spurred by his years in the Coliseum. As he nearly refuses to fight, his attacks are weak and uncoordinated, or at least that's how he stages them to be.]
Tactics: 7/10 [Though he has a distaste for battle, Gallus is superbly talented in the art of tactics, and has quite the brain for both battle and argumentative strategies. This comes from his observance of his mentors, and the more experienced class fighters such as his father.]
Endurance: 6/10 [Though in his younger years he trained vigorously to become a great fighter, eventually his weight and the chronic pains of a well-trained athlete caught up with him, making it difficult for him to move for long periods of time without hurting.]
Speed: 4/10 [Gallus' hefty build and large body give him an advantage in strength, but a great disadvantage in speed, as he often is lethargic in his motions and like with his endurance, causes him some pain to try and move quickly.]
Strength: 9/10 [His strength is his most valuable trait physically, with large, powerful legs and jaw, he can easily crush cats his size and smaller.]
Defense: 7/10 [His defensive side is a bit stronger within him, as he can easily block attacks with pure muscle, and his advanced knowledge of battle tactics, he can easily use his opponents own strengths against them in battle.]

Genetics

Personal Information

Personality
:bulletgreen: = Positive | :bulletyellow: Neutral | :bulletred: Negative

[Brave] | [Loyal] | [Wise] | [Disheartened] | [Forgetful] | [Apologetic]

:bulletgreen: [ Brave ] Though he seems to have a more conservative personality, Gallus has a bravery that is unmatched by most. He knows to use this trait only in the most dire of situations though, and not on frivolous things like dares and unnecessary acts.

:bulletgreen: [ Loyal ] Even in the face of the worst adversities, Gallus is unwavering in his loyalty to his comrades and those he trusts most. This usually tends to be towards those within Ferox, but there are very rare times in which self-interest and those who he deems important take priority over the group as a whole.

:bulletyellow: [ Wise ] Gallus has an unnatural wiseness for someone of his youth, though he's experienced quite the myriad of hardships, and is always willing to use his own personal experiences to advise those around him.

:bulletyellow: [ Forgetful ] Always seeming to be busy doing things for Ferox, the lion has a tendency to forget things which he doesn't deem top priority. This trait may also come from a damaged and hectic mind, which can leave him frantic.

:bulletred: [ Disheartened ] Often times Gallus puts up a happy and relaxed personality for his acquaintances and peers, though those who really know him well know that he isn't always as sound as he seems, and when alone he is often depressed and disheartened. This may also be a trait that weighs down his mind from his time in Rome.

:bulletred: [ Apologetic ] Hand and hand with both his forgetfulness and disheartened-ness, Gallus finds himself apologizing much more than necessary, usually a reflective action that he's used to in order to keep himself and the ones around him happy.

History

Brief summary: Being born into a wealthy household to a healthy couple of lions, Gallus had it easy as a cub, and wasn't expected to do much more than look cute. As he grew up, however, he realized that his human owners were forcing him more and more often to watch his father, a world-class prize fighter in Rome, fight and kill other cats and humans. At the age of one, Gallus began training to fight himself, though he found the notion absurd and almost nauseating, as he'd never had to kill anything before in his life. Upon his father's death, Gallus took his place in the fighting ring, and because he displayed an inordinate amount of strength, he became more and more prized by humans. Though he wished he didn't have to fight, he was forced once into a match to the death, and killed his first cat. After this he continued killing, though a part of him died with the cats at the same time, until he could barely call himself alive anymore. He turned to many unhealthy behaviors to help him cope, but it was futile. One night, a group of cats escaped into the wild, and he followed with them, killing his last cat in order to be free forever. His new home surrounded Rome, and the group called themselves Ferox.
All of these lines across my face
Born on an unknown date in May, Gallus Infimum Spurcus was born to a beautiful and expensive breeding lion called Nicola, sharing a litter with only one other cub, Nicolus. His father was a renowned fighter in the city of Rome, specially selected to breed with Nicola in order to produce a large litter of strong fighters to continue their father's lineage. However, as the litter was so small, Nicola was ordered to be slaughtered and instead sold for her fur, leaving Socrates and his human Claude to care for the two cubs. Gallus never knew his mother, and instead looked up to his father to teach him most things, including how to live. Socrates was generally carefree, and was only obsessed with fighting and drinking, often ignoring his duties as a father. Gallus watched his behavior growing up, and would play-fight often with his brother often, and triumphed over him as Nicolus was the smaller of the two. Socrates often referred to his son as "Titanus Magnus," meaning the Great Titan. He began bringing his son to his matches, having him watch from the sidelines as he killed cat after human after cat, coming out victorious, imprinting further violent tendencies on his son, though he often refused to acknowledge them and instead took up interest in Claude's medicinal studies. Frustrated with his son's lack of interest in fighting, Socrates forced him into training with him, and at the age of six months old, into his first tournament in the Coliseum.

Tell you the story of who I am
At six months, Socrates began training both Gallus and Nicolus in the art of combat, though he tended to push Gallus much harder than his twin, seeing the potential in his son's obvious strength. He grew exponentially within the next few months, and by the time his first spring rolled around, he was sent to his first official tournament. It wasn't a death tournament, not necessarily at least, so Gallus went along bravely through the ordeal, as he knew his father would be waiting or him to make him proud and continue his legacy. He made it to the championship of the tournament with ease, combating against much less experienced cats his age and weight-class. However, after fighting for weeks, Gallus grew tired and was defeated in his final match. His strength was still a sight to behold, and his father's nickname caught on amongst the others in his class, Titanus Magnus, if nothing more than a name to be scoffed at by jealous peers.

Roleplay Sample
Blinking into the morning sun, Gallus rose from his den with a common drag in his step and a sleep-heavy gaze, making his way to a nearby stream to drink. It was quite early in the morning, judging by the sun's position on the edge of the horizon, and the beautiful blend of blues and oranges off in the distant sky. After drinking his fill and scraping a thick layer of sleep off of his throat, the brute drudged back to the Ferox camp, a quiet hum coming from the few cats who were already awake. Among them he recognized his trusted leader, Venator, speaking with a few of the stray Gatherers and Falcons mulling about. As far as he knew, the rest of the Anecdotists were still sleeping, as duty wasn't necessarily called for until later in the day anyways. 'It would still be nice to have someone who I can talk to about the day's activities, though,' thought Gallus, sending a somewhat wistful look towards the small group of chatting cats before ducking once more into his den, noticing the sleeping bodies that surrounded him. 'Not that this lazy bunch would be much for conversation either.'
